California springtime

Spring has always been my favorite time of year. I so enjoy watching everything waking up, sprouting and blooming. The colors are extra prominent, vibrant and fresh. Spring in Southern California is not quite the same as spring in Norway, but it still has its special unique signs. So tired

So tired

I am so very tired these days. It’s probably a combination of the compounds in the chemo and the compounds I’m taking to reduce the side effects. I can’t keep a conversation going more than an hour before I need to rest. After a 30 to 40 min walk I need a moment on the couch when I come home. These last few days have been pretty slow. I have not been as deep into the abyss as previous cycles but this is definitely a long haul. I have managed the side effects much better this time. I’ve been pretty knocked out since Thursday afternoon. Most of my time has been spent flat on the couch and I have started growing an impressive set of dreadlocks. The price I have to pay to get a milder reaction to the side effects is tiredness and very low energy. Another rapid update from James:  Stine is doing better than usual for Day 2 post-treatment. Her appetite continues to be good and she doesn’t seem to have as much “chemohead” as in previous sessions. She is sleeping more (probably because of the RSO) but that is OK and is actually a good way to deal with this. One new side effect has shown up though: her finger tips are bright red and sensitive.
