Cruising down

Cruising down

Just a quick update as I’m cruising down from the summit. There is not much to tell about the last few days other than that the side effects are easing up. I can touch refrigerated items for a longer time, so now I’m back on dinner duty – today spicy fish soup is on the menu. I am less fatigued, so I can do longer walks, do more chores and work a few hours – it is good to feel useful again. My mouth and tongue are still a bit odd, so when something tastes funny I’m not sure if it is me, or if it actually does taste funny. My fingerprints are starting to get back to normal state. I have had no cramps in my hands for the last few days, so now the cardigan I’m knitting is getting close to finished – the bottom part and one arm are left (yes – this knitting project is from top to bottom). My digestive system is still a bit messed up, but it is much easier for me to fill fluids and nutrition back up. Yesterday I was not so good at doing that, so I had to have a few hours longer nap than I ideally wanted – but I’m back on track today.

Due to the blood clot in my lungs I’m more out of breath than I’m used to, but hopefully the blood thinners will solve that soon. I will discuss the results from the CT scan with my doctors tomorrow, and I’m very eager to hear how extensive the clot is, what it means, and what extra I can do to make it go away. The only side effect that does not seem to give up are the hot flashes. I will of course mention this to my doctors to get their feedback on what to expect and what the cause is. So – these items and about 4000 other questions are buzzing around in my head. I’ll probably get an answer to about 10 of them tomorrow – but that should be the 10 most important ones.

Back to work so I can finish up some stuff for a client – and if I’m lucky I’ll be able to recruit Benjamin as my sous chef for dinner prep. I will of course update you tomorrow on the results from the doctors appointments.
