Thinking of the Sierras

Thinking of the Sierras

James’ post: The last two days have been a bit of a blur for Stine. Yesterday we had a nice cake (thanks Mom and Deena!) and Benjamin cooked dinner. He is also cooking for us tonight- maybe a chef in the making! Today, Stine was full cyborg. She had a flashing implant on her arm, plus a hose coming out (her PICC line). I should have taken a picture as she looked like she was getting ready to be incorporated…

Cycle 6 Update

Cycle 6 Update

Guest post from James today. Stine has been quite drowsy all day with some neuropathy that is making it difficult for her to swallow, and she is dealing with a number of hot flashes. Another rapid update from James:  Stine is doing better than usual for Day 2 post-treatment. Her appetite continues to be good and she doesn’t seem to have as much “chemohead” as in previous sessions. She is sleeping more (probably because of the RSO) but that is OK and is actually a good way to deal with this. One new side effect has shown up though: her finger tips are bright red and sensitive. It is likely another neuropathy reaction but…

Steep cold sensitive days ahead

Steep cold sensitive days ahead

An update from guest blogger, James. Stine has finished her fasting period and is on the 5-FU portion of her 4th chemo cycle. More tired than usual, but that may also be due to a new treatment she is trying. Appetite is good: homemade chicken soup tonight, with strawberries, blueberries and heavy cream for desert. There are also a number of changes to help with her mouth/tongue that will be implemented this course including aloe vera juice and an oral…
