I’m going home!

Every day while hospitalized I have opened a surprise picture and taped up on the side of my bed. Benjamin and James printed out, rolled up and tied happy memories for me so I could have something nice to think about every morning. Such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. I am the lucky winner of the best room on the floor. It has an amazing view, and because it is a corner room it has an extra window panel. One whole wall is windows only. HIPEC Surgery Update 4

Stine got an “Excellent” on her recovery progress from the surgery team today. That is good news all around and to celebrate she is getting yogurt for dinner. They are keeping the G tube closed, so her stomach and the rest are getting a wake-up workout. Everything appears to be functioning normally, the incision is healing well and with a bit of luck the chest tube will be removed tomorrow. She walked multiple laps around the corridors today as well…

Still going strong

It has been a good week and a good weekend. I’m working on getting stronger so I can tackle another large surgery. We walk 2-3 miles every day. I’ve definitely lost muscle mass since my surgery in January, but I’m slowly rebuilding muscle strength. I’m managing to contribute more and more to home chores and most days I tend to forget that things aren’t quite up to par. I’ve also gained a bit of weight back. Strangely enough I haven’t…
