Yesterday after getting the chemo infusion I did not get the same side effect kick as previous cycles. I got an 80% dose and I have found some side effect reducing tricks. Hard to say which has the greatest impact but it doesn’t matter as long as the side effects are milder. Today I am tired and low on energy. I have only had faint pain and cramps in my legs and a few mild cases of cramps and tingling…
A quick update. It’s been a relatively uneventful day expect for the wonderful bread Daiana brought over and the great dinner Benjamin was responsible for, with some help from James and me. It’s nice to cook together. We have a rule in our house that the one that cooks dinner doesn’t have to do the dishes – so we meet a little conundrum when we all contribute to dinner… The dishes do get clean… For me today was relatively uneventful….
An update from guest blogger, James. Stine has finished her fasting period and is on the 5-FU portion of her 4th chemo cycle. More tired than usual, but that may also be due to a new treatment she is trying. Appetite is good: homemade chicken soup tonight, with strawberries, blueberries and heavy cream for desert. Another guest blog today. It has been an up and down day, with unfortunately more down than up. Stine was awake at 0500 and feeling quite hot, and we removed the 5-FU bag mid-morning. This cycle has hit Stine the hardest with quite a bit of pain and what she is calling “chemo head” where she has severe headaches and what I call mental “swimming.” She got up for a bit in the afternoon to do some gardening, which Chess…
