Cycle 6 Update

Cycle 6 Update

Guest post from James today. Stine has been quite drowsy all day with some neuropathy that is making it difficult for her to swallow, and she is dealing with a number of hot flashes. I made her some donuts today and she seemed to like them. They are closer to Norwegian smultring, but baked and then dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Chess was going crazy for them and he followed Benjamin around the house begging (I think unsuccessfully?) for a…

There are also a number of changes to help with her mouth/tongue that will be implemented this course including aloe vera juice and an oral…

Down the Rabbit Hole

Down the Rabbit Hole

Another guest blog today. It has been an up and down day, with unfortunately more down than up. Stine was awake at 0500 and feeling quite hot, and we removed the 5-FU bag mid-morning. This cycle has hit Stine the hardest with quite a bit of pain and what she is calling “chemo head” where she has severe headaches and what I call mental “swimming.” She got up for a bit in the afternoon to do some gardening, which Chess…
