It will be dark, you want to slow-down, and there simply isn’t anything you can do but go forward. It’s been a harder day today. Seems like Saturday is when the chemo kicks in fully. Likely because the whole dose of 5FU is now in my system – and the protective steroids I got on Thursday are out. Much to my surprise I’ve had a pretty good day today following chemo from yesterday. Slow morning and breakfast in bed. After I got up I managed to work for a few hours – reasonably focused. We have made sure I’ve been eating and drinking enough and I take a pill every eight hours to keep the nausea at bay. I had my lunch sitting up – and working at the same time – and texting. Here We Go Again

Time to continue walking towards the summit. I got the second dose of the same three drugs today. Cycle 2 of 6 has started. After talking to the oncologist yesterday he found no need to reduce the dose since the side effects were, not unmentionable, but manageable last time. I am being treated aggressively so I need to be monitored closely. My white blood cell (WBC) count was slightly below normal range, but nothing concerning. However, I need to be…
