Another guest blog today. It has been an up and down day, with unfortunately more down than up. Stine was awake at 0500 and feeling quite hot, and we removed the 5-FU bag mid-morning. This cycle has hit Stine the hardest with quite a bit of pain and what she is calling “chemo head” where she has severe headaches and what I call mental “swimming.”

She got up for a bit in the afternoon to do some gardening, which Chess enjoyed with her- but for most of the day she had been down. It is also particularly challenging because even water tastes bad to her and is hard to swallow. I shifted over to Le Croix lime flavored water and am hoping that maybe it will be easier. The problem is even small sips of water are challenging but when she stops drinking water the headaches worsen, so it can create a negative feedback loop if we aren’t careful.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better.
